Sean is what makes the show for me. I want to marry him, but don’t worry, I’m aware that won’t happen, I’m not that obsessed.
Sean was born on 10th November 1965, he’s vegetarian and lives in London with two dogs, Bill and Sweep, and a cat, (called Maggie after the baby in The Simpsons) a smokers cough and loud music (the last two are a direct quote from the inside of his book, “It’s What He Would Have Wanted”.)
Bill and Sweep are from Battersea Dogs Home. Sean took Bill back for a visit, where Sweep fell madly in love with Bill. Sadly his love is unrequited*
He has a BMW and uses a brillo pad to remove the bird shit from it!
In 1987 Sean started to work as a stand up comic in the London clubs. His UK television debut was on Friday Night Live (LWT). In 1990 he won the prestigious Perrier Award for A One Night Stand With Sean Hughes.
Sean wrote and starred in Sean’s Show, a seven part sitcom series on C4 - the show was critically acclaimed and a second series was screened in 1993. Australian television credits include The Steve Vizard Show and The Melbourne Festival Gala Show.
Sean’s favourite bands are the Tindersticks, Julian Cope, Mark Eitzel, Barry Adamson, Fugees, Baw and The Wedding Present. His favourite song of all time is Old England Is Dying by the Waterboys.
Sean is also an acomplished writer. He’s written “Sean’s Book”, which sold over 40,000 copies. The second book “Grey Area” is a collection of articles and prose was published in 1995. Next came “The Detainees” and “It’s What He Would Have Wanted”. I would recommend the latter to anyone. I’ve also read “The Detainees”, to be honest, I preferred “It’s What He Would Have Wanted”, but that’s just my humble opinion.

* This info came from The Daily Mail. It could be true.
** If you have the DVD copy of “The Commitments” you can go directly to Chapter 32 In The Midnight Hour for Sean’s scenes. There will be caps from the movie as soon as my DVD player gets over it’s allergy to The Commitments.
I got the filmatography from imdb.com and the other info came from various articles in newspapers and the inserts in his books, videos and audio tapes.
